Reasons to change your password

Password Requirements

Maximum Password Age: 180 days - i.e. users will be prompted to change their password approximately every 6 months.
Minimum Password Age: 30 days - i.e. once users have changed their password, they may not change it again for at least 30 days.


Complexity Requirements:

Password must be at least 6 characters in length.
Password may not contain all or part of the user's account name.
Password must contain characters from three of the following four categories:
  • English upper case characters (A ... Z)
  • English lower case characters (a ... z)
  • Base 10 digits (0 ... 9)
  • Non-alphanumeric (for example, $, %) (*)
Examples of valid passwords:

Wired.33
*123*hi
hello$11

Note (*): Since we have a lot of Italian keyboards at John Cabot, it is not recommended that you use those symbols (e.g. #, !) that are located in a different position on the U.S. keyboard.


How to change your password

1)To change your password, logon to the John Cabot Webmail: https://mail.johncabot.edu/exchange

2)Click on the Options button found on the bottom left-hand corner of the page. Scroll down and you will find the Change Password button shown in Figure 1.

3) Click on the Change Password button and the form shown in Figure 2 will be displayed. After you have filled in all the information, click OK.

First Logon or Expired Password

You are required to change your password if it is the first time you logon or your password has expired. You will be redirected to the form shown in Figure 3. After you have filled in all the information, click OK.

Password is about to Expire

If your password is about to expire you will be redirected to the form shown in Figure 4.

Click Ok to change your password. and you will be redirected to the form in Figure 2.
